It was an absolutely gorgeous weekend here in Virginia. I am a warm weather girl and guiltily enjoyed it, even though I know that the increasing number of 70-degree January days we get each year isn’t good news for our planet. I spent a few hours crafting in my sunny kitchen with the windows open this afternoon. These tags are great if you love color, but don’t have a color printer. The printable background is in black and white, and you can then punch hearts out of any color paper to glue to it. The xoxo background may be downloaded free at the bottom of this post.
Materials:
Printer
Scissors
Square Punch
Heart Punch
Small Hole Punch
Red Paper or Pink Paper
White Cardstock
Mounting Tape
Twine
STEP 1 Download and Print Your Tags
Download the PDF using the email form at the bottom of this page and save it. The PDF is a letter size, 8.5×11 inch sheet.
For paper, use a bright white cardstock. If you do not have a printer, you can also just have them printed at an office store local to you.
Once you are ready, print as many sheets as you need.
STEP 2 Cut Out Your Tags
The tool you need to make these tags is this square paper punch that I bought on Amazon. Roughly cut the tags with scissors to remove excess border as needed. Insert your paper and flip the punch over so that you can see the design inside the frame. Then just press down. Punch a small hole for the string at the top of the tag.
Use your heart-shaped punch to cut hearts out of red or pink paper, one for each gift tag.
STEP 3 Glue Hearts
I used double sided mounting squares to attach my hearts to the xoxo square. I looped a piece of red and white baker’s twine through the hole, so it is ready to tie to my gifts on Valentine’s Day. Until then—xoxo.
