The Thanksgiving table is one of the most fun to decorate. There are so many options, like recently fallen gold and red leaves, gourds, cornucopias, and, of course, pumpkins. This year, I thought that small white pumpkins would be the perfect place card holders. All you have to do is cut the stems slightly, then insert cards with the guest names. These place cards are easy to customize with your own words in Adobe Acrobat Reader. You may download the free printables using the form at the bottom of this post.
Materials:
Printer
Cardstock
Scalloped Paper Punch
X-ACTO Knife
Mini White Pumpkins
STEP 1 Download and Print
Download the PDF using the link at the bottom of this page. Save it to your hard drive or a thumb drive. The PDF is a letter size, 8.5×11 inch sheet with two cards on a page.
To edit, open the file in Adobe Reader, which is a free download. Then, just click in one of the highlighted fields and type your text. Use the tab key to move between fields.
For paper, use a white cardstock. If you do not have a printer, you may also just have them printed at an office store local to you. Once you are ready, print as many sheets as you need.
STEP 2 Cut Out
Use your paper punch to cut out your circles. Flip the punch over before you start, to center the card in the window. Then, just press down.
STEP 3 Cut Stems
I used real mini pumpkins for mine. But, if you cannot find them, you can also use place card holders such as these gold pumpkins or these cute little pinecones. The advantage of the latter, of course, is that you can reuse them every year. If you are going with the real pumpkins, carefully cut the stems with your X-ACTO to make a slot to hold your cards.
STEP 4 Insert Cards
Slip your cards into the slots, and place on your table. Happy Thanksgiving!
