Thanksgiving is a holiday when I really like to add extra touches to my decorations. Since one of the day’s highlights is, of course, the buffet table, that is a perfect place to start. Signage to let your guests know the contents of each dish is very helpful, especially for large gatherings. As a vegetarian, I am always grateful to see buffet cards, so I don’t have to try to figure out what things are on my own and/or awkwardly ask the host to identify everything. And, there is no reason that your Thanksgiving buffet cards cannot be pretty, too. I designed these two to a sheet, and they feature an acorn and pumpkin. The cards are easy to customize with your own words in Adobe Acrobat Reader. If your event is a potluck, just print them blank and have a few markers available for your guests to hand write the names of their dishes. You may download the free printables using the form at the bottom of this post.
Materials:
Printer
Cardstock
Scissors or Paper Cutter
Ruler
Scoring Stylus
STEP 1 Download and Print
Download the PDF using the link at the bottom of this page. Save it to your hard drive or a thumb drive. The PDF is a letter size, 8.5×11 inch sheet with two cards on a page.
To edit, open the file in Adobe Reader, which is a free download. Then, just click in one of the highlighted fields and type your text. Use the tab key to move between fields.
For paper, use a white, cream, or pastel cardstock. If you do not have a printer, you may also just have them printed at an office store local to you. Once you are ready, print as many sheets as you need.
STEP 2 Cut Out
Use your paper cutter to cut out the tent cards along the crop lines. You may use scissors if you don’t have a paper cutter, but it is easier to get the corners square with the cutter.
STEP 3 Score and Fold
Place your sheet face down on your work surface. Put your ruler horizontally along the center of the cards. Draw your scoring tool several times along the ruler. This will allow you to fold the cards in half without cracking.
Fold and place on your gorgeous Thanksgiving tablescape.
