A couple of weeks ago, my friend Amy asked me to design a tag for a special wedding gift. For months, she has been hand knitting a blanket for a friend. She is now finished, and it is absolutely stunning. Here’s a photo of the finished masterpiece (kitty not included):
We came up with the idea to write “To Have and To Hold, In Case You Get Cold” on the tag. I thought some of you might be interested in these too, so I snapped a few pictures. I photographed it with a pashmina, thinking it would make a sweet bridesmaid gift. Use the tags with any blanket, shawl, scarf, or even with hot cocoa or drink mixes. You may download the free printable tags using the form at the bottom of this post.
Materials:
Printer
Scissors or Paper Cutter
White Cardstock
Hole Punch
Twine
STEP 1 Download and Print Your Tags
Download the PDF using the link at the bottom of this page. Save it to your hard drive or a thumb drive. The PDF is a letter size, 8.5×11 inch sheet.
For paper, use a bright white cardstock. If you do not have a printer, you can also just have them printed at an office store local to you.
Once you are ready, print as many sheets as you need.
STEP 2 Cut Out Your Tags
Use your paper cutter to cut out the gift tags along the crop lines. You may use scissors if you don’t have a paper cutter, but it is easier to get them straight with the cutter.
After they were cut out, I punched holes in the top center.
STEP 3 Attach Tags
I wrapped twine several times around the shawl, then tied it to the tag. So pretty.
