A Merry Beary Christmas Polar Bear Gift Tags, Free Printable

Watercolor Polar Bear Wearing a Green Scarf Holiday Gift Tags Free Printable

A few weeks ago I purchased an Apple Pencil, downloaded Procreate to my iPad, and started playing around with the various paint styles. I have never had a great deal of natural drawing talent, and so I doubted I would be able to do much with it. Well, I was wrong. This thing is amazing. With the help of a few videos, I was soon able to create pretty little digital watercolors. It is SO much easier than painting on the computer using Photoshop and a touchpad mouse. While I will never give up my Adobe products—they are unsurpassed for image editing and laying out designs—I am definitely going to start leaning more toward Procreate when I need to create new drawings and paintings.

This little polar bear wearing a green scarf is the first painting I finished. I can see many flaws in him, but I decided to share regardless so that you can see what can be accomplished with minimal talent and a few hours of time. They read “a merry beary Christmas” and have a snowy background. The printable gift tags may be downloaded free at the bottom of this post.

Materials:

Printer
Scissors
2.5 Inch Paper Punch (I actually punched mine out with a 2-inch punch, but that crops off more of the tag. Use whichever you prefer.)
Small Hole Punch
White Cardstock

STEP 1 Download and Print Your Tags

Download the PDF using the link at the bottom of this page. Save it to your hard drive or a thumb drive. The PDF is a letter size, 8.5×11 inch sheet, with nine tags on a page.

For paper, use a bright white cardstock. If you do not have a printer, you can also just have them printed at an office store local to you. Once you are ready, open the file in Adobe Acrobat Reader and then print as many sheets as you need.

STEP 2 Cut Out Your Tags

I used a circle paper punch to cut out the tags. First, trim the white border to allow you to insert the sheet and center. Flip your punch over, so that you can see the design inside the frame. Then just press down. Use your small, quarter inch punch to create a hole for the ribbon at the top of the tag. I used baker’s twine to tie my tags to brown paper favor bags.
