I bought herbs this weekend. I plan to get them planted into my garden this week. In the meantime, I started thinking about what cute (and useful) gifts they would make. I designed a gift tag for the thyme, so that you can use it for teacher appreciation week, or for anyone who has done something nice for you. The tags read Thank You for your Thyme. All you have to do is attach the tab to a pot of fresh thyme. Whoever receives it can plant it in their own garden, or just keep it in a sunny kitchen window and clip a few springs whenever needed. The printable gift tags may be downloaded free at the bottom of this post.
Materials:
Printer
Scissors
Cardstock
2.5 Inch Paper Punch
Fresh Thyme or Thyme Seeds
Plant Stakes or Toothpicks
STEP 1 Download and Print Your Tags
Download the PDF using the link at the bottom of this page. Save it to your hard drive or a thumb drive. The PDF is a letter size, 8.5×11 inch sheet, with nine tags on a page.
For paper, use a bright white cardstock. If you do not have a printer, you can also just have them printed at an office store local to you. Once you are ready, open the file in Adobe Acrobat Reader and then print as many sheets as you need.
STEP 2 Cut Out Your Tags
I used a circle paper punch to cut out the tags. First, trim the white border to allow you to insert the sheet and center. Flip your punch over, so that you can see the design inside the frame. Then just press down. You can attach it to the thyme in any number of ways. Either glue the gift tag to a toothpick or plant stake, or punch a hole and tie it to the pot.
