These “You Take the Cake” gift tags can be used for party favors or any thank you gift. Attach them to a cake pop, slice of cake, or cupcake. They would also be a cute addition to a box of cake mix for a teacher appreciation gift. For my example, I used them as toppers for Georgetown cupcakes. However, you could also tie them to a paper box or bag. The gift tags may be downloaded free at the bottom of this post.
STEP 1 Download and Print Your Tags
Download the PDF using the email form at the bottom of this page and save it. The PDF is a letter size, 8.5×11 inch sheet, with nine tags on a page.
For paper, use a bright white cardstock. If you do not have a printer, you can also just have them printed at an office store local to you.
Once you are ready, open in Adobe Acrobat Reader and print as many sheets as you need.
STEP 2 Cut Out Your Tags
The tool you need to make these tags is this square punch you can buy on Amazon. Roughly cut the tags with scissors to remove excess border as needed. Insert your paper and flip the punch over so that you can center the design inside the frame. Then just press down.
Punch a hole at the top and the bottom of the tag.
STEP 3 Attach Tags
I threaded the lollipop stick through the holes and then inserted it into the cupcake. It looks so cute.
