How to Make Birthday Cake Gift Tags With Washi Tape

How to Make Birthday Cake Gift Tags With Washi Tape

I had planned to do a new printable today, but I completely forgot that my Fed Ex Store isn’t open on Sundays due to pandemic hours. So my prints are being held hostage there until tomorrow. Instead, I decided to improvise and make birthday cake gift tags using washi tape and a gold paint pen. These were so simple to create, and you can easily use this idea for a birthday card or to dress up a plain gift bag.

Materials:

Scissors
Paper Cutter
Cardstock
Washi Tape
Hole Punch
Baker’s Twine
Paint Pen

STEP 1 Cut Out Your Tags

Use the guides on your paper cutter to cut the cardstock to the size you would like your tags. I cut three inch squares for mine.

STEP 2 Create the Cake Layers

Cut three pieces of washi tape and stick them in graduating layers on your tags. I just eyeballed the size for mine.

STEP 3 Draw Cake Plate and Candles

Use a pen to draw a plate and candles for your washi tape cake. I used a gold paint pen, but if you don’t have one, just use a Sharpie or regular pen.
