I love recycling vintage ephemera into new gift tags. To make these, I collaged floral imagery from antique French seed packets with the backs of old postcards that I collected when I was a child. They are perfect to keep on hand for whenever you need to wrap a gift. I especially like the way they look with kraft paper. The printable gift tags may be downloaded free using the form at the bottom of this post.
Materials:
Printer
Scissors or Paper Cutter
White Cardstock
Pinking Scissors
Brown Paper Sacks
Clothespins
STEP 1 Download and Print Your Tags
Download the PDF using the link at the bottom of this page. Save it to your hard drive or a thumb drive. The PDF is a letter size, 8.5×11 inch sheet, with eight tags on a page.
For paper, use a bright white cardstock. If you do not have a printer, you can also just have them printed at an office store local to you. Once you are ready, open the file in Adobe Acrobat Reader and then print as many sheets as you need.
STEP 2 Cut Out Your Tags
Use your paper cutter to cut out the gift tags along the crop lines. You may use scissors if you don’t have a paper cutter, but it is easier to get them straight with the cutter.
STEP 3 Attach Tags
I used small brown paper sacks, but any gift wrap will do. I trimmed the bag edge with pinking shears and then just clipped on the tag with a decorative clothespin.
