I love vintage illustrations. The picture I used on these housewarming gift tags came from an early 20th-century newspaper. It shows three people standing outside of a picturesque house, with a sign that says home sweet home over the door. I think that the third woman in the drawing looks like she is showing the house, making these perfect for realtor client gifts and marketing. But they are great for any housewarming party or open house, too. The gift tags may be downloaded free at the bottom of this post.
Materials:
Printer
White Cardstock
Scissors or Paper Cutter
Hole Punch
Twine
Ribbon
Gift Box
STEP 1 Download and Print Your Tags
Download the PDF using the email form at the bottom of this page and save it. The PDF is a letter size, 8.5×11 inch sheet, with six tags on a page.
For paper, use a bright white cardstock. If you do not have a printer, you can also just have them printed at an office store local to you.
Once you are ready, open in Adobe Acrobat Reader and print as many sheets as you need.
STEP 2 Cut Out Your Tags
There are crop lines on the page to make these easy to cut. I used a paper cutter, but if you don’t have one, you can use scissors. You can also use a straight edge and X-ACTO knife, which delivers a better result than scissors as it is easier to get the corners perfectly square. Once they are cut out, punch a hole in the top of the tag for the twine.
STEP 3 Wrap
I found these awesome kraft gift boxes at Michael’s the other day. They are very well constructed, and best of all they have separate lids. They look very elegant and stand on their own without wrapping paper, which will save you time. I recommend either picking a few up next time you go for a craft supply run, or ordering this multi-size set of twelve. I used a wide burlap ribbon to hold it all together, and attached my gift tags with a little piece of natural twine. I just love the look, and hope you do, too.
