An Autumn Treat for Someone Sweet Gift Tags

The evenings are getting cooler here in Virginia. While it would be premature to say that the weather has turned, it is already becoming apparent that fall is on the way.  I have started designing fall printables, and will begin rolling them out over the next few weeks starting with these An Autumn Treat for Someone Sweet gift tags. You may download your free printable tags using the form at the end of these instructions.

Materials:

Printer
White Cardstock
Scissors
3.5 inch Hole Punch
1/4 inch Hole Punch
Baker’s Twine
Brown Paper Sacks
Clothespins

STEP 1 Download and Print Your Tags

Download the PDF using the link at the bottom of this page. Save it to your hard drive or a thumb drive. The PDF is a letter size, 8.5×11 inch sheet, with four circle tags on a page.

For paper, use a white cardstock.  If you do not have a printer, you can also have them printed at Staples or an office store local to you.

Once you are ready, print as many sheets as you need.

STEP 2 Cut Out Your Tags

The tool you need to make these tags is an extra large circle punch. This design is compatible with a 3.5 inch circle. I used this punch that I bought on Amazon and I love it. It is so easy to use.

First, trim the white border so that you can fully insert the tag into the punch. Next, insert your sheet and flip the punch over so that you can center the design inside the frame. Then just press down. You now have a perfect circle.

Use your small hole punch to create a hole for the baker’s twine at the top of the tag.

STEP 3 Package the Treats

I used little brown paper sacks, but cellophane bags would also look beautiful. Fill the bags with any sweet treat.

I folded down the bags and then wrapped brown baker’s twine around the tops. I ran the string through the holes, tied little bows, and clipped everything together with clothespins.
