Is there anything more refreshing on a hot summer’s day than a root beer float? I think not. Which is why this idea is the perfect summer party favor. It is inexpensive, clever, and delicious. The tags read “Just Add Ice Cream.” You can add a paper straw if desired (I didn’t because, well, I forgot) and tie to the neck of a root beer bottle. The free printable gift tags may be downloaded free using the form at the bottom of this post.
Materials:
Printer (you may also bring the PDF to a copy store near you–I used Fed Ex)
Scissors
Large Gift Tag Punch
White Cardstock
Baker’s Twine
Paper Straws
Root Beer
STEP 1 Download and Print Your Tags
Download the PDF using the email form at the bottom of this page and save it. The PDF is a letter size, 8.5×11 inch sheet, with eight tags on a page.
For paper, use a bright white cardstock. If you do not have a printer, you can also just have them printed at an office store local to you.
Once you are ready, print as many sheets as you need.
STEP 2 Cut Out Your Tags
The tool you need to make these tags is the Fiskars large tag punch. Roughly cut the tags with scissors to remove excess border as needed. Insert your paper and flip the punch over so that you can center the design inside the frame. Then just press down.
Then, turn the punch over and insert the tag into the smaller slot to make a hole for the string.
STEP 3 Attach Tags
Tie your tags to the necks of the root beer bottles, slip in straws, and your favors are ready to go. So. Much. Fun.
