This little pot of leprechaun’s gold is as adorable as it is easy to make. The free printable tag says “you are the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.” Attach to any small container or bag of candy with gold wrappers. Use them for St. Patrick’s Day party favors, teacher gifts, volunteer or staff appreciation, or just because. You may download your free printable tags at the bottom of this page. Materials:
Printer (you may also bring the PDF to a copy store near you–I used Fed Ex)
White Cardstock
Scissors
Large Gift Tag Punch
Small Clay Pot
Clothespin
Candy with Gold Wrappers, Such as Chocolate Coins, Rolos, or Ferrero Rocher Hazelnut Chocolates
STEP 1 Download and Print Your Tags
Download the PDF using the link at the bottom of this sheet. Save it to your hard drive or a thumb drive. The PDF is a letter size, 8.5×11 inch sheet, with eight gift tags on a page.
For paper, use a white cardstock. If you do not have a printer, you can also have them printed at Fed Ex, Staples or an office store local to you.
Once you are ready, print as many sheets as you need.
STEP 2 Cut Out Your Tags
The tool you need to make these tags is a large hang tag punch. I used this punch that I bought on Amazon. I purchased it three years ago, and it still cuts beautifully. I especially love the scalloped design at the top. Roughly cut the tags with scissors to remove excess border as needed. Insert your paper and flip the punch over so that you can center the design inside the frame. Then just press down.
Repeat until all tags are cut.
STEP 3 Package the Treats
To create my pots of leprechaun’s gold, I used small clay planters and filled them with chocolate gold coins. I then attached the tags using small clothespins.
