I love using kraft paper for gift wrapping. Its plainness is the reason I gravitate to it. Kraft paper creates the perfect canvas for creative, statement packages. This string of hearts is so easy and inexpensive to make, and after the gift is opened, you can use it as table decoration or bunting.
Materials:
Heart Punch
Red Paper
Hole Punch, 1/8 inch
Red Yarn
Wrapped Gift
STEP 1 Punch Hearts
Use a heart-shaped punch to cut the hearts from red paper. I used this punch that I bought on Amazon. It is strong enough that I could cut through both sheets of paper at the same time. I cut 24 hearts for my shirt-sized gift box. Adjust according to your gift size.
STEP 2 Punch Small Holes
Use a small punch to make holes at the bottom points of the hearts.
STEP 3 Thread
Thread the yarn through the hearts.
STEP 4 Tie
Tie the yarn around the gift. Then, spread out the hearts along the length of the package.
STEP 5 Arrange
Arrange the hearts so that every other one is oriented to the opposite side of the package. Happy Valentine’s Day!
