The tradition of giving small gifts of affection on Valentine’s Day dates back centuries. And what could be more perfect than a sweet treat in packaging you made yourself? I designed these A Little Treat for Someone Sweet tags to make it easier. I attached mine to little brown paper bags filled with chocolates. You may download your free printable tags at the bottom of this page.
Update 2.24.2019: These tags are also available in a blue color palette for year-round use.
Materials:
Printer (you may also bring the PDF to a copy store near you–I used Fed Ex)
White Cardstock
Scissors
3.5 inch Hole Punch
Baker’s Twine
Brown Paper Sacks
Mini Clothespins
STEP 1 Download and Print Your Tags
Download the PDF using the link at the bottom of this sheet. Save it to your hard drive or a thumb drive. The PDF is a letter size, 8.5×11 inch sheet, with four circle tags on a page.
For paper, use a white cardstock. If you do not have a printer, you can also have them printed at Fed Ex, Staples or an office store local to you.
Once you are ready, print as many sheets as you need.
STEP 2 Cut Out Your Tags
The tool you need to make these tags is an extra large circle punch. This design is compatible with a 3.5 inch circle. I used this punch that I bought on Amazon and I love it. It is so easy to use.
First, cut the tags into four rough squares using scissors, leaving a white border about a half inch away from the red dotted line. They don’t need to be straight as you will be cutting them again with the punch. Next, insert your sheet and flip the punch over so that you can center the design inside the frame. Then just press down.
You now have a perfect circle.
STEP 3 Package the Treats
I used little brown paper sacks, but cellophane bags would also look beautiful. Fill the bags with any sweet treat.
I folded down the bags and then wrapped baker’s twine around the tops. I tied little bows and clipped everything together with mini clothespins.
Fabulous.
