A nice bottle of olive oil is the perfect gift. Everyone uses it, but we all feel kind of guilty for paying a little extra for a fancy bottle. So next time you want to show someone you care, why not give them something they will actually use and make these five-minute tags to dress it up? The printable sheet may be downloaded for free at the bottom of this page, after the step-by-step instructions.
Materials:
Color Printer (you may also bring the PDF to a copy store near you)
Paper Cutter or Scissors
White Cardstock
Stylus (Optional)
Ruler or Straight Edge
2-inch Circle Punch
Olive Oil
STEP 1 Download and Print Your Tags
Download the PDF using the link at the bottom of this sheet. Save it to your hard drive or a thumb drive. The PDF is a letter size, 8.5×11 inch sheet, with three tags on a page.
For paper, use a bright white cardstock or heavy paper. If you do not have a printer, you can also have them printed at an office store local to you. The cost is usually about a dollar per sheet, and many vendors will also cut them for you.
Once you are ready, print as many sheets as you need.
STEP 2 Cut Out Your Tags
I prefer to use a paper cutter when I am cutting out tags, as it is easy to get the corners perfectly square using the guides. If you don’t have a paper cutter, however, you can also use scissors.
STEP 3 Punch Holes
To make perfect circles, you will need a two-inch paper punch, which you can find at any craft store. I used the EK Tools Circle Punch that I bought from Amazon. Line up the tags so that the circle outline is centered inside the punch window, then just press down.
STEP 4 Score and Fold
If you have a stylus, it will help you to get a crisp fold without the paper cracking. A bobby pin or anything pointy will also work. Place the tag face down on your cutting mat or work surface. Using a straight edge such as a ruler, draw the stylus along the paper several times until there is a crease. Then, just fold.
STEP 5 Place Tags on Bottles
The choices are endless when it comes to olive oil. If you aren’t sure, however, I recently discovered Williams Sonoma’s infused basil oil, and I love it. It reminds me of the caprese salad I have been living on this summer. Whatever you choose, just thread the tags over the neck of the bottles. You are done!
