Just last week I wrote about how gloomy the weather has been, but I think we hit a turning point. I’ve been able to run outside without freezing for several days now, and I even began working in my garden on Sunday. Spring is definitely coming, and I made these happy little tags to celebrate. I used a new scalloped craft punch I bought last week. I plan to try it out in my next several projects, so if you decide to order one, too, you’ll have several opportunities to use it. The ‘Have an Eggcellent Easter’ gift tags may be downloaded free using the form at the bottom of this post.
Materials:
Printer (you may also bring the PDF to a copy store near you–I used Fed Ex)
Scissors
Scalloped Circle Punch, 2.25 inches
White Cardstock
Hole Punch
Baker’s Twine
Mason Jar
Chocolate Easter Eggs
STEP 1 Download and Print Your Tags
Download the PDF using the link at the bottom of this sheet. Save it to your hard drive or a thumb drive. The PDF is a letter size, 8.5×11 inch sheet, with nine tags on a page.
For paper, use a bright white cardstock. If you do not have a printer, you can also just have them printed at an office store local to you.
Once you are ready, print as many sheets as you need.
STEP 2 Cut Out Your Tags
The tool you need to make these tags is a 2.25 inch circle punch. I used this punch that I bought on Amazon. It has a pretty scalloped edge. Roughly cut the tags with scissors to remove excess border as needed. Insert your paper and flip the punch over so that you can center the design inside the frame. Then just press down.
Punch a hole for the string at the top of each tag using your small hole punch.
STEP 3 Fill Jar & Attach Tags
Fill the mason jar with colorful candy eggs. I used Whoppers eggs but you can also try jellybeans, Cadbury Mini Eggs, or M&M’s.
Cut a piece of Baker’s twine and wrap it several times around the jar. String through the hole in your tag, then tie a bow.
