I’ve written before about gift wrapping with the perfection that is the humble brown paper bag. For St. Patrick’s Day, I designed these extra large “lucky” gift tags with a basic paper lunch bag in mind. They have a green shamrock background and lucky written in calligraphy script. Add a pretty ribbon, and you will create beautiful packaging this St. Patty’s Day for teachers, friends, staff, or clients. Because everyone deserves a little luck.
STEP 1 Download and Print Your Tags
Download the PDF using the link at the bottom of this sheet. Save it to your hard drive or a thumb drive. The PDF is a letter size, 8.5×11 inch sheet, with four tags on a page.
For paper, use a bright white or cream colored cardstock. If you do not have a printer, you can also just have them printed at an office store local to you.
Once you are ready, print as many sheets as you need.
STEP 2 Cut Out Your Tags
I prefer to use a paper cutter when I am cutting out tags, as it helps to get the corners perfectly square using the guides. I love my Purple Cows Trimmer. If you don’t have a paper cutter, however, you can also use scissors. I chamfered the corners of mine, but that is optional.
STEP 3 Trim Bag
Use the pinking shears to trim the top of your bag. This will make a pretty edge when you fold it.
STEP 4 Bag & Fold
Put your gift into the bag, then fold it down once. Place the tag against the bag, aligning the top with the fold. Using a small hole punch, create a hole through both.
STEP 5 Tie to Gifts
I used ribbon and tied a bow at the top center. So pretty.
Have a lucky St. Patrick’s Day.
